The School Improvement Plan (SIP) provides a written framework that identifies what West Tytherley CE Primary School will do to fulfil its published aims and its statutory obligations.

The School has identified the below key priorities for improvement and these will be developed over a three year period from 2015 – 2018.

Quality of teaching, learning & assessment

  • Raise standards for all children by improving the quality of teaching and learning
  • Develop a rich and varied curriculum to enhance the learning experiences of every child
  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning in Computer Science

Effectiveness of leadership and management

  • Improve the effectiveness of Subject Leaders across the school
  • Ensure Senior Leaders strengthen their strategic role in order to raise standards
  • Develop highly successful strategies for engaging and communicating with parents and the community
  • Further strengthen the effectiveness of the Governing Body to support and challenge the school and fulfil its statutory duties.

Personal development, behaviour & welfare

  • Embed learning behaviours through Building Learning Power
  • Promote the new school vision with children, staff and parents
  • Develop the awareness of British Values and the ‘Prevent’ strategy
  • Enhance opportunities for pupils to have a ‘voice’, take on responsibility and develop leadership skills
  • Enhance pupils' social interaction and quality of 'play'
  • Raise the profile of competitive sports
  • Develop pupils’ thinking skills and active participation through P4C

Outcomes for Pupils

  • Raise the standards of reading across the school
  • Improve progress and outcomes for all disadvantaged pupils
